Chickpea Tajine




Chickpea Tajine (submitted by Adeya, Liquid Gold Saint John)

Ingredients (serves 4):

1.5 tsp.            tajine Epices de Cru spices

1 tbsp.             whole cumin

1.5 tbsp.          paprika

2 tbsp.             Persian Lime Liquid Gold EVOO

1                      large onion (chopped)

2                      cloves of garlic

1 can               chickpeas (drained)

1                      tomato (diced)

2 tbsp.             tomato paste

½ can              coconut milk.



1.      Pour olive oil and cumin in a large sauce pan, lightly cooking them for 10 seconds.

2.      Add onions and sauté until they are tender

3.      Add garlic, tajine, and paprika. Cook them with the onions for a few minutes before adding tomato paste.

4.      Add chickpeas and coconut milk and simmer for ten minutes. Add water if necessary.

5.      Add tomatoes, simmer for another 10 minutes.

6.      Serve with rice or pita!
